This year I got over a really big fear of mine. Cats. 🐈 🐱 Especially meeting new cats. My neighbor’s cat greeted me right as I moved into my new place last year and I was immediately terrified. Yes, 8 lb furballs used to terrify me, and yes I just googled what the average cat weighs. My partner breed dogs for 10 years and is the ultimate animal lover. So of course he invited the cat into my house and got out my finest china and fed the cat. I was speechless. I felt so afraid of cats because I couldn’t read their movement or minds like dogs, dogs were always a bit easier for me to understand. I was never really a big dog or cat person. To be honest I was always a horse person and that’s about it for animals. I remember when my man was away on business and and the cat just came around like he does to say hello and I completely froze and tears started to well up in my eyes. I couldn’t breathe, I was convinced the cat was going to pounce on me and it was going to be so fast I couldn’t move in time. I called my mentor and said SOS in a text. She called and said "Are you ok?" I said NO! there’s a cat. "There’s a cat?" Yes there’s a cat and I can’t move… "Why can’t you move?" Because I don’t trust the cat, I can't make any sudden movements it will pounce. “The cat feels if you’re afraid she said.” We’ll great! It's definitely going to attack then! This cat is an outdoor cat and makes it's own rules about when it comes around so I had to find a way to get over my fear because I often do a lot of my work outside on the porch so.... After 11 months and 21 days, many arguments with my boyfriend about the cat's true intentions and my mentor chatting with me about cats I have finally pet the cat. BIG WIN. 🍭sweets and family fun and are feeling the sugar cravings start at the beginning of the work week, this is what I do. 😊 ❤️First ! I don’t get mad that the sugar cravings are there because that’s what I signed up for having yeast products or sweets! ❤️I remind myself not all sugar is bad… these sugar cravings are candida yeast cravings and are just the wrong kind of sugar bugs. 💯I remind myself this is an opportunity to look at the fun that was had with family and friends. 🥗 And then make bette choices for my week and schedule ahead that I need to be productive for by making good food choices. ❤️When I get sugar cravings: 🍓 I start my day with berries not pastries, berries feed the right kind of sugar bugs and rebalance my microbiome flora. 👍Eating the right kind of sugars like, berries in the am, sweet potatoes and 70% percent dark chocolate will rebalance your gut and help you get your sweet tooth needs met. 👻 The die-off of the candida sugar bugs are what give you the headache, brain fog and cravings after a weekend or lifetime of partying but they are often gone after 3 days. 👎Avoid soda, fast foods, processed foods, including chips, boxed pastas and pizzas during this process to reduce cravings, brain fog and headaches. 🍳 Get plenty of protein and veggies to keep your blood sugar from crashing and mood stable this also helps reduce the cravings.🥗 🌟 I believe in you. Vegan Butternut Squash Soup Recipe : Ingredients 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 1 large yellow onion, chopped ½ teaspoon sea salt 1 (3-pound) butternut squash, peeled, seeded, and cubed 3 garlic cloves, chopped 1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage ½ tablespoon minced fresh rosemary 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger 3 to 4 cups vegetable broth Freshly ground black pepper For serving Chopped parsley Toasted pepitas Crusty bread Instructions Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion, salt, and several grinds of fresh pepper and sauté until soft, 5 to 8 minutes. Add the squash and cook until it begins to soften, stirring occasionally, for 8 to 10 minutes. Add the garlic, sage, rosemary, and ginger. Stir and cook 30 seconds to 1 minute, until fragrant, then add 3 cups of the broth. Bring to a boil, cover, and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook until the squash is tender, 20 to 30 minutes. Let cool slightly and pour the soup into a blender, working in batches if necessary, and blend until smooth. I can’t do this. I don’t wanna do this. 1 year with you Sterling Mcqueen.❤️ Dear Younger June, You might not have seen or believed there would be a man as kind, gentle and caring as this man. But I’d like to introduce you to him, His name is Sterling. He gives you space when you need it. When you have worked yourself to the bone he literally picks you up (as you’re internal kicking and screaming because you don’t want to slow down) and puts you into bed because he helps you learn you deserve balance and rest in your life. He doesn’t need you to wear makeup, he doesn’t need you to shave your legs and he doesn’t need you to shower before you leave the house. He says you’re allowed to be a child because you are a child of god. When you are afraid to use your voice and say how you feel he says it can come out messy and we will piece your meaning and intentions back together. He says we don’t have time to worry because we have blessings to inherit. He says he is happy to celebrate every new holiday and tradition you discover and study all religions and traditions with you because we should never miss a moment to celebrate, reflect and rejoice in our time here on this earth. He listens to you babble for hours. And he receives you with the greatest love patience and tenderness in the whole wide world. ❤️ But to receive this kind of man , you must rip down all of the barriers keeping your heart closed to loving yourself, other and the current like you live. 😋Snacking Tips: 🍿When it comes to snacking awareness is a slippery slope I remember when I first started eating mindfully to manage my symptoms of hormone imbalance, brain fog and weight gain. 🍿 I would go to the movie theater and get a small bag of popcorn and dump out half of the bag before I entered the movie theater. 🍿Because I knew then, I could not stop eating when I was full... if there was still popcorn in the bag it was sure to be eaten. 🍿One day after many years of practicing this, (allowing myself to have limits) I looked down at my bag of popcorn and cried because there was still half of the half bag left I just had stopped eating when I reached my set point and you can too, but it comes with training. ❤️When we wish things were different, that we had more control and we fail and fail again we often, as I did... give ourselves more permission to being in denial and going down that slippery slope of I can’t do this. But you can.🔥 ❤️This is me giving you permission to throw away half of a bag of snack food if you live alone and can’t trust yourself to stop when you’re. ❤️The “starving kids in america or africa” thought can no longer give you permission to keep living this way. ❤️It’s not worth consequences down the road of diabetes, heart disease, auto-immune disorders and the pre-dispositions to many illnesses that being overweight puts you at risk of. ❤️It’s not worth it. Stop lying to yourself that you can will your way to freedom it doesn’t work that way if it hasn’t worked yet don’t keep waiting for it to work. ❤️You are allowed to have the snack food and not put yourself at the risk. 🤝Limitations and discipline grant greater freedoms and joys. ❤️You deserve a pat on the back today for not starving yourself but not ignoring your health either. ❤️You can feel the hard feelings of doing new things that benefit you and the value of taking care of yourself.
